Who Are Papas Pizza?

We started Papas Pizza 4 years ago because it was hard to find a real authentic Pizza at a reasonable price. By and large the industry was (and still is) dominated by large commercial pizza companies. The small pizzerias have a great product but lack the resources to advertise their brand.

You will have noticed that mostly all the small pizzerias that make the primo pizza have either disappeared or developed into large operations with their conveyer toaster ovens, recipes, measuring cups and rigid systems that run to suit the machines and no matter what they try, they still make the same old commercial plastic pizza.

Let's face it. Baking fresh pizza isn't rocket science and you would expect to be able to make simple requests without wrecking someones day or costing you the earth in extra charges ie. Lose the anchovies and double up the mushies please, an extra swirl of BBQ or could you just put olives on half - or maybe a sprinkle of cashews or blue cheese.

At Papas Pizza we keep it all real and simple and stick to the basics with an uncompromising emphasis on customer service, consistantly good Pizza and moderate prices.

We only have the one shop in St Albans in Christchurch, we use only the best local produce and blend all our cheeses and flour on site. Everything is clean, fresh and made to order.

We make our pizza bases from scratch in our ancient old mixer and bake them fresh in 5 - 8 minutes in stone deck pizza ovens.

You'll probably notice our homestyle sauces simmering away (no additives or numbers in here). Pizzerias don't smell like this anymore.

Our menu pretty much covers the field - with toppings right to the edge (not a measuring cup in sight) and you can put whatever you like on your pizza (including gourmet items) for NO extra cost.

Our customers are disconcerning pizza eaters and if you don't get some of the best pizza you've ever eaten - you'll get your money back.
